We’re a community of men engaged in a unique Bible encounter.
We meet together weekly in groups and apply a specific approach to learning and sharing scripture – we call it the Bible’s Big Picture.
We believe that after two years, and two round-trips from Genesis to Revelation, you’ll advance your Bible understanding by a decade… maybe even a lifetime. We’re serious.
The Genesis 3:15 promise is our mega-theme that threads through history, today, and into the future with its ultimate fulfillment.
Our concept is simple:
- a small group of men commit to read through the Bible,
- meeting together weekly for two years (taking the summers off),
- after the first year, the group splits into two groups as each man invites another to join for the following year.
- Rinse… Repeat. Groups multiply.
Who would commit themselves, for two years, to meet with others, and read through the entire Bible?
Turns out, lots of people.
And could groups with this high bar not only last two years, but actually multiply in the process?
Yes. Since we started, we’ve doubled every year, and raised up leaders in the process.
We believe two facts about you and your Bible.
- You CAN read the Bible.
- You CAN understand the Bible
We are motivated by the biblical example of an esteemed group of men of Issachar. These leaders were known for having unique understanding of the times during a confusing point in Israel’s history. (1 Chronicles 12:32)
Our world today is in a confused state. Many Christian men and families are wandering spiritually.
We lack shepherds who truly know and understand the scriptures and can teach others to do this same (another 3:15, in Jeremiah).
ThreeFifteen relies solely on the power of God’s Word to change hearts and minds. No programs, no gimmicks.
Starting as “nothing”
This movement was started by a group of men with years (okay, decades) of experience with hyped-up church programs with bells and whistles, glitzy marketing, and catchy slogans.
We wanted something different. Fresh. Basic.
“Let’s just read our Bibles,” we agreed. We called ourselves the “nothing group,” launching a quiet movement with no name, no brand, no structured outlines. Nothing but our Bibles.
We cherished our “nothing” identity as we steady-plodded our way through a first year… then another year (two groups)… then another year (4 groups)… and so on.
And now, here we are. We recognize something is happening.
From nothing to essentials
While we started as “nothing,” from the onset we were actually guided by some important “things” – we call them our Essentials.
On one hand, we desire an organic and freedom-spirited experience. Group leaders don’t have scripts to follow.
On the other hand, we do need guidance and structure. The Bible is a gigantic text. And while the journey is broad, we’re after a focused experience.
Our six essentials guide our Bible approach:
- Like a Child (Bible interpretation)
- Big Picture (macro vs micro)
- Key Threads (God’s promises)
- Prophecy (God reveals)
- God-centric (study of God vs study of “me”)
- Time-sensitive (worldview application)
